About Dr Pele Mojapelo
is the Deputy Secretary of AcTA and one its founding members. Dr Mojapelo qualified in Medunsa in 2000 and did his internship in Tembisa followed by a year as a Community Service doctor in Mafikeng in 2002. He worked as General Practitioner in Alexandra from 2003 to 2006. In 2005 he obtained a Diploma in Anaesthesia while working as a medical officer in Tembisa Hospital. He also worked as a Senior Medical Officer in the Dept. of Anaesthesia at Natalspruit and Germiston Hospitals in 2004 to 2009.
Dr Mojapelo holds several other qualifications. He completed a BSc degree and a Higher Diploma in Computer Science at Wits in 1995. In 2008 he obtained a BA(Hons) degree in Economics from Unisa followed by a MSc degree in Financial Economics from University of London. He is currently practicing as an anaesthetist in Johannesburg.
He is a former member of SASCO and the ANC. He is a passionate Africanist, who believes that Africans must build their own institutions separate from both white liberal and apartheid ones we are hopelessly trying to transform and in the process loosing valuable time, energy and resources.
